Okay, so here it is again, another rant on relationships... and this time a little deeper then most. I just finished reading a few articles on love. Don't ask me why, these things always seem to come at once. You read one friend's journal and it's filled with questions of love and rants about boys or girls, then you go to the next and it's all the same... it's an on going cycle of how to find that special someone to love.
First of all, I need to explain something to all of you that I've mentioned before in this blog. The current perception of love is so skewed its sickening. As I read all these articles, journals, blogs, or whatever it is that people type out all their 'secrets' for the world to see, one thing always pricks me. It's the misconception of love. People see love as something that will make you feel good inside. Something that gives you butterflys constantly, something that keeps you on cloud 9 for however long. Something that makes you feel complete.
Do you notice a trend in any of those last sentences? It's all about YOU isn't it? ....and thats the problem. People need to start realizing that love isn't about them. It's about someone else. It's about the someone YOU care about.
Love has none greater than this, that one lay down his life for a friend.
You won't fully understand until you actually meet a person you are willing to sacrifice for. Think of a friend, wether it be a boyfriend, girlfriend or just a plain regular friend. How much are you willing to sacrifice for that person? That is how we should love. Would you lay down your life for that friend? Would you give up your career, your dreams, your goals just to be with them? Is she worth it? Is he worth it? Do you love him?
And you know what the best part about this is? When both parties have that sacrificial love for each other, there is nothing to compromise... there is nothing to sacrifice. Because you have both agreed to give up for each other. If you have to complain about something you've given up for that someone, then is it really love? no, nope it's not... You'll soon find out that you WANT to give up for that someone, and then its not really a sacrifice is it? :)
