The great thing about having such a big desk is that you can clutter it up all you want and still have room for everything. Thats probably one of the best things about the dorms here at Johnson. Our desks are just as big as our beds. It's great because that means I don't have to make that pesky trip to the trash can when I'm done eating something. I can just kinda toss it to the side of my desk and wait until Wednesday when we have mandatory room inspections to clean it up. Sure being organized has its benefits but then again so does being messy. I mean let's be honest we've all had those days where we can't find that certain item after we've just cleaned up... For me it's my stupid mail key. I always lose that thing when I clean my room. Why? because I put it in a place where I will think I'll remember but then because I cleaned up and nothing is where I'm used to it being (say, the floor) I can't find it. However on the days my room is not clean I have no trouble at all finding my mail key admist the clutter and trash on my desk or on the floor underneath my computer. Another benefit about being messy is laundry. Laundry is much easier (that is if you decide to do it) Messy kids don't really take the time to seperate all their clothes in neat little color coded piles. It saves us a fair amount of time just saying screw it and tossing it all in at once. Another added benefit is that us messy kids really don't have to iron either, in fact nine times out of ten I'd say i'm expected to wear wrinkled clothes. Also there are certain techniques you learn when being messy. For instance I've nearly perfected the sniff and go technique: "Sniff clean youre good to go, Sniff bad and you'll get others mad." So discuss: Are you a messy kid or a clean kid? Is there an in between kid? Also here's a picture of my desk two days after room inspection:
