Ok, to end the complaining streak, a "deeply intellectual" post:
My roommate, Emily, is in Biomedical Ethics this semester. This guy in her class "Big Brad" always seems to lead the discussion to deep philosophical topics, like "is Grove City unlawfully taking away our constitutional right to procreate?" Well somehow their discussion on Monday got into the topic of things that could kill you. And binge drinking was brought up. This was his reply:
Think of a gazelle in the Serengeti...the herd only moves as fast as the slowest gazelle...thus when a lion attacks it picks off the slowest gazelle and then the herd moves faster...binge drinking kills off brain cells...the slowest brain cells...thus the faster ones are left...thus binge drinking makes you smarter!
I dunno...I'm not a big fan of getting drunk and dealing w/ the hangover & puking & all that afterwards, but in a twisted sorta way, it kinda makes sense.
