I just spent the weekend with a bunch of X hippies who believe that a story is "a prayer that reaches to the ends of the earth." Hmm... Parts of the Jonesborough Storytelling Festival were not that bad, but of course, it inspired me to write a story of my own, and you, dear fools, are my audience:

The Discontented Princess
Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess. She was kind, and compassionate, and friendly, and all her married friends agreed that she would make a good queen someday. Unfortunately, all the princes were married. The princes who were not married were already promised to someone. Even if there were eligible Prince Charmings in the area, they had no way of knowing that she existed. She was locked in the secluded tower of Getonia, and the keeper of the key was an evil dragon named Templaria. Not only was she destined to spend her life in the tower (which was bad enough), she was taunted day and night by everyone else in the kingdom talking about courtship, marriage, and all that comes with such things.
Unfortunately, this is THE END of the story.
