My second graders are having a little trouble with the "a_e" sound. (That would be a consanant e, the long a, like in make!) SO I am doing a lesson similar to that which we did in our first grade class. (Don't worry, the first graders couldn't handle this lesson until February!) Anyway, the lesson involves a great big MAGIC E which is covered in glitter! Just thought I would share that with everyone. The magic "e" turns mat in mate, hop into hope, and win into...hmm..I think the second graders will stay away from that one.
