“Ya’ll” from New Hampshire might not be aware of this, but New Englanders have a reputation. Everyone says that New Englanders are cold, and it isn’t because of the snowfall. Hoosiers, Volunteers and, well, anyone who isn’t from New England, agree that New Englanders are just plain mean. Now before you throw your hat at me (Happy Hat Day, everyone), ask these opinionated people if they have ever been there. They haven’t.
I have, and I want to say that I found New Hampshirans to be warm and friendly. Thanks to Elizabeth’s wedding, I got to experience hospitality, New England style! People opened their homes, church, and lives to us. A waitress even touched Anita’s hair (which was still in an updo after the wedding.) As weird as that might be, a cold, unfriendly person wouldn’t do that. Three out of three “foreign” bridesmaids agree that New Hampshire is a beautiful place, full of wonderful, friendly people! New England is, as they say in Maine, “The way life should be.”
Thanks for making our visit so pleasant!
And thanks, Darrell, for making me a blogger
