FINALLY - I got my email. So anyway, this week (Wednesday to be exact), I'm in gym class, and we're stretching before we play some soccer. We're doing some sit ups, and I lean back to do another one - when I come up, I am suddenly in a bit of pain. Figuring I must have hit a nerve or something, I went about the rest of the period. When the pain increased the next period, I waited until the end, and then I went to the nurse. She told me I had most likely pulled a muscle because I strained my back rather than my stomach muscles, and gave me an Ice pack and tols me to rest a while. I went to sleep through my 1 1/2 study periods, then went to lunch where I felt ok - until the next period. The pain was excrutiating. This was proposterous! I do sit ups like every other night! How could this one have hurt so badly? Well, I made it through the rest of the day alive. When I got home my mom was extremely worried and wanted to get me a chiropractor appointment. I told her I thought I had pulled a muscle, not hurt a bone, so I took some Tylenol and lubed my back up with icey-hot and went to bed. Woke up the next morning - ow. I was not about to spend another day walking around school in that kind of pain, so I told my mom and she let me stay home. When she got home at 3, she told me we had to go because I had a chiropractor appointment. I was sure this would be useless, since I had just pulled a muscle. Well, after reading "Highlights" in the waiting room, the doctor snapped my back a few times, took some x - rays and gave me EMS( electronic muscle stimulation - feels like heaven). He then informed me the following, "Well, you know your top vertibrae and you rib cage are connected right? Well, what you did when you strained you back was slide all of those forward in your body. You'll need to come back friday." Why would I need to come back friday? I asked, "Why, didn't you fix me today?" and he told me it would take a FEW visits before I would be healed completely. When I told my mom, she was in hysterics, glad she got me to a chiropractor when she had, and that was my first visit to the chiropractor.
