This whole "New Year's Resolution" thing has me a bit baffled. Why on earth do people make such a big deal about promises that most of them will not keep? The worst one I ever heard was "I resolve not to make any resolutions this year". Do they realize that they've broken their New Year's resolution as soon as they said it? One of my friends resolved to not date all year. This seems to be the smartest resolution I've heard yet. Her philosophy was that if she didn't get a date all year, then hey, she actually kept her resolution (which is a pretty amazing accomplishment), but if she did end up breaking it, she still got a bf...it was a win/win situation. Anyway, I think we should outlaw resolutions; they are discouraging and a menace to society.
