Newicks can read me like a book. I think they can tell that I'm getting frustrated with my job. So they start pampering me. Today I was training the new kid, my manager comes over and the new kid says he's learning how to cook, my manager responds with "Good thing you're learning from the best" and then gives me a pat on the back. Before that we were short handed today and so I was cleaning out the fryalators when I realized no one else was coming in. We opened in a 1/2 hour and nothing was set up yet. So I had to stop cleaning the fryalators to set up everything. Now cleaning the fryalators is the worst job at newicks. You have to deal with all sorts of hot greas and crappy goo, it's pretty disgusting. So my manager comes over and says "hey you go set up, I'll take care of these here lator's for ya." Now it's not every day you see a manager do the most disgusting job ever. Then Shawn (one of the best workers Newicks has ever seen) comes up to me and asks me if I want to start training under him, now if you knew Shawn he is very selective with who he works with, it was quite the honor to be asked to start training with him. So Friday and Saturday nights I will be off the horrid fryline and now will be able to cook more eloquant things such as Steak, Prime Rib, Burgers and Lobster tails. Then Adam Glimore called me the King of the kitchen today, since i set up the line in 15 minutes. And finally at the end of the night my manager told me I was the best line cook ever.......stupid newicks. I want to leave but sheesh they make it so hard.....*teary eyes*
