Suppose you had to write a 10 page paper on a poet. Wouldn't it make a whole lot of sense as well as make your paper much more interesting to make the paper rhyme? Poets rhyme! I rhyme all the time! Or at least part of the time. Sometimes. Rhyme provides interest, and predictability. I would rather read 10 rhyming pages about a poet, than 10 non rhyming pages. But maybe that is just me. I've been brainswashed for four years to be creative and thematic. When I think of poetry, I think of rhymes.
By the way, I wrote a cool limerick once it won a dollar. It went like this
There once was a princess named Kelly
Who ate nothing but bread and jelly
One day she tried meat
And it tasted so neat
She now works part time in a deli.
