How do you all feel about the issue of conformity and standard "norms" set in both Christian schools & the Christian social circle?
(For those of you who don't like big words or are functioning on less than five hours of sleep: do you think Chrisitans Schools are right when they enforce dress codes, which may include no unnatural hair color, wearing skirts for girls & ties for guys w/ their shirts tucked in, no black makeup/nail polish, etc.; try to limit the style of music to non-rock; say that dancing...with some exceptions...is not acceptable for teens; etc.)
I realize that pretty much everyone else who posts on this site didn't/doesn't go to a Christian School. But this also applies for what is "acceptable" in the Christian community. And this post is not meant to be a chance to bash the strickness (yes, I just invented that word) of Christian Schools. I just am curious if you think they are pushing their control over our lifestyles too much or if it is a necessary thing in order to maintain an image that is different than that of the world.
