Some of you may have already heard of this, but for those of you who aren't in the area...The mayor of Manchester has said that he won't allow any more rock music concerts in Manchester. He says that they are a disturbance to the public and are too loud. Apparently this is because a lot of people complained about the last rock concert (held just a week or two ago). They said that you could hear profanities from the music all across the city. Yet those who were there said that after they left Singer Park, you could barely hear the music after a couple blocks. Some think we should allow rock concerts, but contain them to the new Civic Center once it's finished (this November). Others think they should be completely banned and are an abomination to the city while still others believe we will be losing a lot of money. Although I can see the point with not wanting loud music full of profanities to be blasted across the city, I still think that it must be unconstitutional for them to ban one specific type of music. I don't particularly like all the music (although I do like some of it), but if they ban this for swears, who knows if next they'll try to ban Christian music for talking about a "one-way, seclusive religion" next. What are your thoughts?
